What do we do?

The Geoparks Investment Advisory Council (GIAC) serves as a platform dedicated to fostering collaboration between businesses, investors, and geoparks around the world. Much like any other Business Advisory Council or Chamber of Commerce, GIAC focuses on promoting sustainable development, investment opportunities, and networking within the geopark sector. The council works to support geoparks in achieving their economic, environmental, and social goals by facilitating connections between public and private sectors, as well as providing strategic guidance on investments and business opportunities. Through its Business Advisory Committee, Geoparks Business Council, and Investors Network, GIAC helps ensure that the geopark initiatives align with both local community needs and global sustainability targets.

GIAC is also instrumental in hosting events, trade shows, and facilitating bilateral and multilateral discussions among various stakeholders. These activities encourage dialogue between governments, businesses, and local communities, fostering innovation and long-term partnerships. By promoting public-private partnerships, GIAC helps unlock financial and technical support for geoparks, enhancing their ability to develop, conserve, and promote their unique natural and cultural heritage.
