Are you passionate about sustainable development, geotourism, and preserving geological heritage? Do you want to gain valuable hands-on experience working with a global initiative that supports UNESCO Global Geoparks? The Geoparks Investment Advisory Council (GIAC) is offering a Remote Internship Program that provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and preservation of geoparks around the world.

About GIAC: The Geoparks Investment Advisory Council (GIAC) focuses on fostering sustainable development in UNESCO Global Geoparks as well as Aspiring Global Geoparks by connecting investors, businesses, and local communities. Through our work, we aim to promote responsible tourism, support local economies, and preserve the natural and cultural resources that make these areas so unique.

What You’ll Do: As a GIAC Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our mission by:

  • Assisting with research on sustainable investment strategies and funding opportunities for UNESCO Global Geoparks.

  • Contributing to the development of reports, presentations, and communications materials for stakeholders.

  • Engaging in social media campaigns to raise awareness about GIAC’s initiatives and the importance of geoconservation.

  • Helping facilitate knowledge exchange between geoparks, businesses, and investors.

  • Supporting the Business Advisory, Climate Impact Hub, and other GIAC programs and divisions with various projects and activities related to conservation, education and sustainable development.

Who We’re Looking For: We are seeking interns who are passionate about:

  • Sustainable development and environmental conservation.

  • Geotourism and heritage preservation.

  • Global collaboration and community engagement.

  • Strong communication, research, and analytical skills.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Geology, Geography, Tourism Management, or related fields.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

  • Interest in global development and UNESCO Global Geoparks.
